TRANSFERABLE KNOWLEDGE

G Partner, Phil Goodfellow, has demonstrated experience in healthcare design. After developing a specific expertise in mental health design as an architect at leading Canadian design firms, Phil was a Director at Infrastructure Ontario. In this role he acted as the client representative and project manager, and he led Mental Health hospitals across Ontario through the challenges of redevelopment.  His experience as a Client Representative is the key driver behind G’s Guiding Principle of client focus.

Working on a number of complex, non-acute healthcare projects, G’s Partner Geordon Green was the lead Contract Administrator for a major renovation and addition to a non acute hospital, while a Senior Associate at a leading Canadian firm.

G has leveraged our transferrable knowledge of the complex challenges of healthcare design to support major hospital clients through renovations into 24/7 occupied facilities.

MENTAL HEALTH DESIGN

MENTAL HEALTH DESIGN

Through our unique experience in the design, construction and operations of Mental Health environments, we understand the specific challenges of designing a supportive, durable, calming environment that is safe for both clients and staff.

G’s recent mental health design experience includes the design of a Child & Youth Mental Health Courtyard for Hamilton Health Sciences, as well  as the application ofour knowledge in the design of spaces for marginalized members of society. G has led the development of the first integrated municipal employment and provincial social services centre in Toronto. In addition, we  leverage our mental health experience the design of seniors’ environments, specifically the design ofmemory care environments.

HEALTHCARE RENOVATIONS

HEALTHCARE RENOVATIONS

G’s approach of “big firm expertise with the service of a boutique firm” is tailored for healthcare clients who need to undertake a challenging renovation. Renovations in occupied healthcare facilities require specific experience and understanding of healthcare design in order to mitigate impacts to clinical operations and patient safety. In addition, we are able to provide the high level of service that small renovation projects require.

Our repeat clients in this challenging healthcare renovation sector are a testament to our customer service approach. We have completed several projects at the Baycrest Health Sciences and the Hospital for Sick Children. These projects range from clinic, support services and office fit-ups, to state of good repair or infrastructure upgrades across our client’s healthcare portfolio.
