NON-ACUTE HEALTHCARE
North York General Mammography Expansion
G architects lead the redevelopment of mammography services at North York General Hospital’s Outpatient and Community Services Centre, expanding screening and diagnostic capacity through upgrades to key clinical areas. The project introduces a new mammography room, IV Prep Room, and reconfigured Education Room within roughly 770 square feet, along with a refreshed 208 square foot change room and acoustic improvements to enhance privacy in the PAED Clinic.
The design prioritizes comfort, workflow, and confidentiality in an active outpatient setting, pairing patient-centred layouts with technical upgrades to meet mechanical, electrical, acoustic, and equipment needs. Integration of the Hologic 3Dimensions system requires coordinated shielding, HVAC adjustments, electrical loads, and ceiling modifications, all within the constraints of an operational facility.
Through this expansion, G architects is supporting NYGH in increasing imaging capacity, improving patient flow, and strengthening the quality of care at the Champagne Drive site.
